What is the difference between category and this page

Hi, sorry, i want to try to understand, what is the difference between this page and Category:Porn Sites? I see that the page is locked, i've looked at the history, and i see tons of edit wars going on, so i'm concerned. I don't want to walk into something crazy like that. P.S.
